When Worlds Collide 1:  A New Day
By
: slick1969

Summary: Newly married, Harm and Mac are on their way to their new home when they notice a familiar passenger on their flight. This is a JAG/NCIS crossover.
Rating: IM15 for now - Inappropriate for children under the age of 15 - Some references to drugs, sex, bad language, and violence, but not in an overly descriptive manner.
Spoilers: Through Season 10 for JAG and into Season 3 for NCIS. Since these two universes have begun to operate somewhat separately, I figure I can adjust my timelines as I like.
Disclaimer: I don’t own any of the characters from JAG or NCIS, and that’s probably a good thing. I’m also assuming Harm and Mac would have to take a commercial flight. I’m also sure I’m taking some creative license with other details that will show up

0915 Saturday Morning
Mac’s Apartment

Mac awoke feeling more rested than she had in a long time. She looked at the clock and realized just how rested she was.

She stretched out and rolled over to find Harm looking at her.

“Good morning, Captain Rabb,” she said.

“Good morning, Mrs. Rabb.” He leaned over and kissed her.

“When I got up yesterday morning, I never thought this is how I would wake up today.” Mac smiled. “Not that I’m complaining or anything.”

After making their announcement at McMurphy’s and the coin toss, Sturgis had come through with an amazing gift for them. He arranged for his father to officiate at a quiet ceremony that evening at the small chapel where he was minister.

They returned to Harm’s apartment only long enough to pick up his duffel bag and went to Mac’s place for their wedding night. It was a night the couple would never forget.

“What time is our flight?” Harm asked.

“We’ve got an hour and twenty-five minutes before we have to leave for Dulles. Any reason why you want to know?”

He grabbed her by the hand. “It gives us just enough time for a nice hot shower,” and he led her towards the bathroom.

“My, Mr. Rabb, this is so sudden,” she clowned. “Who’s going to rescue me?”

“I thought you were the tough Marine who doesn’t need saving,” Harm teased as he turned on the water in the tub.

“Oh. That’s right,” and she pinned him against the shower wall. “Now who’s going to rescue you?”

Harm tilted his head down to hers and whispered, “I don’t want to be rescued. I’m right where I want to be.” The water rained down on them as they began kissing.

1130 Saturday Morning
Dulles Airport

“I hope everything gets to our new place all right,” Mac commented after they had checked their bags. They were taking just the basics with them and the rest of their belongings would be shipped to their temporary housing.

“I’m sure it will be fine,” Harm replied.

“Do you realize this is the longest I’ve stayed in one place?” Mac asked. “Even with leaving the furniture behind for Varese, I’ve got a lot of stuff.”

“Me too. But Harriet and Bud are overseeing the movers, so they’ll make sure it all gets to the right place.” Harm squeezed her hand. “Don’t worry about it.  At worst, it will all end up in San Diego, and they'll have to ship it to London.”

“I suppose you’re right.” Mac sighed. “It’s just hard to believe we’re actually leaving DC.”

They went through security and headed to their terminal. They got on the people mover. It wasn’t overly crowded, so they both sat down.

“Harm,” Mac whispered, “Doesn’t that guy down by the door look familiar?”

Harm glanced over at him. Tall, dark-haired and handsome. And yes, familiar, but he couldn’t place how he knew him. Or why he got an uneasy feeling in his stomach.
