Snorkeling
Home Botanic Park East End Hell Hotel Pedro St. James Pirate Ship Shoreline Pictures Snorkeling Turtle Farm

Most of what we did while on Grand Cayman was snorkel - at least once a day, sometimes more.  We went on a couple of organized group trips, in addition to snorkeling from the beach at our hotel.  The varieties of sealife we saw were amazing.

Before we went down, we picked up an underwater camera, which was probably the best thing we could have done.  We took tons of pictures, and even then didn't get everything on film.

Some type of puffer fish. Sea urchin.

A school of blue parrotfish.   A view of Janet from below.

A scrawled filefish.   See if you can find the fish in here.

Yellow jacks hiding out under some coral. A grouper - not sure which kind. These are all tiny little fish!

The barracuda - closer than I would like to be. There are at least three lobsters hiding under this rock. A dogfish.

A stoplight parrotfish.

A swarm of sergeant majors. Stingray City. More stingrays.

Be careful not to step on them!   A stoplight parrotfish feeding on coral.

Some more yellow jacks

Midnight parrotfish. Only I know if I'm sticking my tongue out at the camera!

Elkhorn coral.

Some really cool brain coral. I believe this is a squirrel fish.

Chris gets up close and personal with a sting ray.

The sting rays are so graceful - like birds flying on the ocean floor.

A shipwreck close to the shore - lots of sea life nearby.   Mobs of fish swimming by - amazing to see.

Pieces of ship machinery.

  More lobsters.

One of the many cruise ships we saw - at least one new one each day.

Spotfin butterflyfish. More spotfin butterflyfish.
