Pedro St. James Castle is the oldest structure on Grand
Cayman, and is a part of the history of the island. It was the building
where they designed the laws for self-governance and where they announced the
abolition of slavery on the island. The property has a beautiful view of
the coast. The house is well-designed - even without air conditioning,
it's cool and comfortable. One reason is that there are louvered walls,
which allow the air to flow freely, but can be shut against the weather.
